“I always knew I wanted to pursue something in technology, but I never made a real effort to figure out exactly what. During high school, I attended a Code/Art meeting, participated in CodeYourSelf™, and loved the experience, despite it being my first time truly coding on my own. Being a finalist gave me the confidence to pursue more coding opportunities, and in my senior year, I became a finalist in both the CodeYourSelf™ and Changemaker competitions. Code/Art truly helped me step out of my comfort zone, shaped my academic path, and inspired me to continue growing.”

“I am very grateful to Code/Art and the meaningful impact the program has had on my confidence. Through my experiences with Code/Art, I learned to believe in myself more and see coding as a space where teamwork and problem-solving come together. Volunteering at summer camps and attending Code/Art Fest, both in person and online, allowed me to connect with others who share a passion for creativity and coding. Code/Art helped me recognize my own potential and reminded me that with support, creativity, and confidence, I can continue to grow and make an impact.”

“I joined Code/Art during my first year at my new school, and it connected me with people who had the same interests as me. Being part of the club made me feel seen and connected to my peers in a way I’ll always value. I loved brainstorming ideas, bringing projects to life with my newfound friends, and learning that competition felt far less intimidating when we worked together as a team. I would recommend Code/Art to any girl who feels unsure of pursuing Computer Science because the community it creates shows that Computer Science can be both creative and fun.”

“Code/Art transformed an intimidating technical skill (computer science) into an accessible, creative tool. Through the Changemaker Challenge, I unearthed not only the meaning behind the foreign languages of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS but also the power of a small group of young innovators in an unbounded field of potential, even in front of a vast audience.“
