Code/Art Celebrates Miami Tech Month with Teachers & Students

Apr 29, 2025 | All News

Miami Tech Month is always a special time for Code/Art to celebrate innovation, engage with our community, and highlight the creative potential of technology for both students and educators. This year, we expanded our reach by introducing new teachers to hands-on AI lessons and offering our 2025 South Florida competition winners and finalists exclusive experiences in the art + tech scene.

We kicked off the month with our Intro to AI professional development workshops for Miami teachers, held at William H. Turner Tech. Led by our Chief Learning Officer, Lisa Hauser, the session introduced Miami-Dade County educators to foundational AI concepts and empowered them to bring these engaging lessons into their classrooms.

Following Code/Art Fest, April continued to be a month of celebration as we partnered with local tech leaders to provide our students with unique learning opportunities. One highlight was our visit to React Conference held in downtown Miami, where Michelle Bakels—Code/Art supporter and React Conference Coordinator—guided students on an exclusive tour of the expo floor. They connected with React’s sponsors, learned about career paths, and got a firsthand look at what it would look like to work as a developer.

At the end of the month, we returned to Superblue for our fourth consecutive year for a morning of creativity and exploration. This immersive experience gave students a chance to interact with the digital art installations and get an “under the hood” look into the technology and robust teams that bring these exhibits to life.
