The largest celebration of young female coders in South Florida!

Code/Art Fest  is an annual gathering to celebrate the achievements of young female coders and to increase awareness of opportunities in computing fields. This one-of-a-kind conference is for students, parents, educators, technologists, artists, and anyone interested in the intersection of tech & art.

Ari Melenciano

Artist & Technologist, Afrotectopia and Google Creative Lab
Ari Melenciano is an artist, technologist, and researcher. She is the founder of Afrotectopia, and a technologist at Google’s Creative Lab. Previously, she has taught at New York University, The Pratt Institute, and Hunter College. Some residencies she’s held include at MICA, MIT Media Lab’s Space Exploration Initiative, Pioneer Works, and Eyebeam. Her work has been supported by a variety of institutions including The National Endowment of the Arts, Sundance, The New York Times, The Studio Museum of Harlem, MoMA, and The Ford Foundation.

Emily Reid

Chief Executive Officer, AI4ALL
Emily Reid is a computer scientist, educator, and entrepreneur. As the CEO at AI4ALL, Emily is focused on democratizing educational pathways to AI and creating the highest quality, interdisciplinary, AI education experience for high school educators and students. Previously, Emily was the VP of Open Learning at AI4ALL. Under her leadership, the Open Learning program has impacted more than 4,000 students in more than 850 classrooms in 48 states and the District of Columbia. Prior to AI4ALL, Emily was founding Director of Education at Girls Who Code, where she was responsible for ensuring that GWC programs were unrivaled in delivering quality computer science education.

Cybersecurity Using Micro:bit with Cyber.Org

Learn Cyber.Org’s Coding Fundamentals curriculum for teachers. During this session, Teachers will use a Micro:bit device to demonstrate various cybersecurity concepts such as encryption, a Denial of Service attack, or a replay attack. Some experience in Python is recommended. Bring a laptop (PC, Mac, or Chromebook) and your creativity! Pre-Registration Required.

Integrating AI Resources in your Classroom with MDC

Learn from MDC EnTec School of Engineering & Technology faculty about introducing students to fundamental AI concepts and how these technologies are impacting industries and ultimately society as a whole. Examples of  materials and applications that can be used in the technology classroom to create AI awareness will be shared and discussed with attendees. Pre-registration Required.

Code Your Own Dazzling Animated Cityscape: A Creative Adventure with P5.js and Code/Art

Bring your imagination and sense of wonder and learn how to animate a mesmerizing skyline in this journey into the world of coding and creativity! Exploring Cybersecurity with CyberGirls

What is cybersecurity? This introductory workshop begins with an overview of the field of cybersecurity. Next, we’ll work as a team of field agents to solve real-life cyber problems! Crack secret codes and find flags to pass levels, mastering computer science and cybersecurity topics in a fun group environment. Pre-Registration Required.

Intro to UX/UI with Ironhack

Have you ever wondered how apps and websites are designed? Join us for a fun lesson on the basics of UI/UX design. Throughout the workshop one of Ironhack’s team members will show you techniques that professional UI/UX designers use to brainstorm and sketch app or website ideas. Come learn and explore immersive technology and how art and code play a role in creating these new technology spaces as well as how careers in this space are evolving. Get a glimpse of the future possibilities that machine learning and artificial intelligence can bring to art, play hands on with holograms and interact in the metaverse. Pre-Registration Required.
