Happy Computer Science Education (CSEd) Week [Dec. 4 to Dec. 10, 2023]! Every year, we partner with community and education organizations to help encourage students to participate in an Hour of Code activity or take part in a CS-themed event. This year, we also had the pleasure of exhibiting at Miami Art Week as well as co-host student and teacher workshops.
We kicked off the week by co-hosting a creative coding workshop with the Girl Scouts of South Tropical Florida where we engaged with over 30+ students to receive their Intro to Coding patch.
Continuing with our celebrations, we unveiled our “Student Digital Art Exhibit” at Context Art Miami during Miami Art Week. The exhibit is a culmination of months of hard work and dedication by our students who competed in Code/Art’s CodeYourSelf™ competition (through various years). These works represent not just technical skill but also the creative vision and innovation of young minds, blending artistic expression with the precision of computer programming.
We ended the week by presenting and exhibiting at CSTA Miami’s CSEd week celebration in partnership with CSforALL, CSTA, Microsoft Teals, Miami Ed Tech and Riders Robotics at Florida International University. We led our signature CodeYourSelf™ lesson to a group of 35 students and parents!
Thank you to our sponsors, community partners, supporters, and Code/Artists who completed our Hour of Code lesson. It’s always a pleasure seeing the artistic masterpieces that students create and the impact of computer science education in the classroom and beyond!
