Supporting Miami-Dade Schools on the Path to STEAM
Recently, Carlos J. Finley Elementary in Miami proudly earned its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) designation, thanks in part to support from Code/Art’s STEAM-aligned programming. Our team worked closely with the school over four strategic touchpoint visits, providing coding instruction, curriculum support, and engaging workshops that introduced their students to creative coding through our popular CodeYourSelf™ lesson.
As part of this effort, Code/Art partnered with Break Through Tech Miami, bringing in coding instructor and Florida International University student, Sophia Rodriguez to lead interactive computer science lessons. These sessions introduced students—many for the first time—to fundamental coding concepts using creative, student-centered approaches that tie directly into the STEAM framework.
