Tech Es Para Todos 2025 Supported by Walmart

On December 13th, Tech Es Para Todos brought coding, creativity, and holiday cheer to the Homestead community as Code/Art celebrated Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) with students and families at South Dade High School. This special event highlighted our mission to make computer science education accessible and inclusive for all students in South Florida, while fostering an intergenerational learning experience where parents and children learned alongside one another.

Celebrating Latinx Leaders in Tech

A highlight of the day was hearing from local Latinx tech professionals, Tatiana Montenegro, Naxis Prado, and Willy Orozco, who shared their personal journeys and career paths in STEM. Students and parents learned firsthand about the challenges and opportunities in the tech industry and the importance of representation in computer science.

These stories helped students see themselves as future innovators and leaders, reinforcing that there is a place for everyone in tech–especially within the Latinos in tech community.

Hands-On Coding: Creating Abstract Art with Code

After the speaker session, students participated in an Abstract Art coding lesson led by Code/Art’s incoming CEO, Lisa Hauser. Through this interactive activity, students explored how technology and art intersect, using code to design colorful digital artwork.

This lesson demonstrated that learning to code isn’t just about programming, it’s also about creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression. Activities like this are at the heart of Code/Art’s approach to making coding fun and engaging for kids.

Thank You to Our Partners and Sponsors

This event would not have been possible without the generous support of Walmart, whose commitment to community initiatives helped bring Tech Es Para Todos to life. We are also grateful to South Dade High School for welcoming us and co-hosting this event.
